The Bucket List Book

My principal is retiring this year–which by the way I am none to happy about! 😦 She is leaving us to pursue some things on her “bucket list”–which brings me to this post. I wanted to give her something to use on her new adventures and something that would say thank you to her for all the mentorship she gave to me, so I came up with the idea of making her a “Bucket List Book”. A place where she can make a list of all the things she wants to do and then blank pages to write about them or to keep photos and notes. Here are some pictures of it–I hope it’s not to sappy, and I also hope that she isn’t reading my blog because I won’t be giving this to her until Tuesday.

Thank you Jeannie for making me want to be a better teacher and for pushing me to work harder when I never thought I could! My Golden Apple Award and Teacher of the Year Award are all due to you and in honor of you! Thank You!!!

Recipe:

bucket (clip art from Microsoft Word), ribbons (from my scrap ribbon drawer), handle (a jumbo paper clip bent into the correct shape), wooden handle (spool from some ribbon I got at Michaels), silver paper (Michaels) letters (Cricuit diecut “Alphalicious”), jumbo eyelets (Stampin’ Up), adhesive tape (3M)

No Time My Friend…

So, I’ve got NO time for card making, scrapbooking, or making anything crafty!  😦  Report cards need to be finished by the 29th, and I have to pack up and move my entire classroom down the hall to make room for a new 1st grade class.  I’m glad because I get to teach Full Day Kinder. next year–but I hate moving–maybe it will give me a chance to purge 18 copies of things I don’t really need!  Anyway–my Stamping Club started back up again on Saturday–god how I miss that!!  I finally got my rub-ons from SAB in March!!!  I got a few blank canvases (okay coffee mugs!) and started rubbing away!  Here is my first one–like it?  Very simple, but I think it rivals Starbucks!  It’s for sale-$8 and it’s yours!

Happy Mother’s Day

I wanted to make a scrapbook for my sister for Mother’s Day–she had a boy in October and she hasn’t had the time to make a book for him, let alone get any sleep!  I picked up a couple of paper kits at Michael’s last night and whipped this together in about 2 hours.  If I would have thought of it sooner, I would have made more of the embellishments myself, instead of buying them–just because I think it’s a little more personal.  I left the pictures out because I can’t decide if I want to put some in, or let her pick her favorites and journal about them herself.  I will give her some adhesive and a nice pen if I go with that option.  Next up–a small-ish sized book for my mom–she’s coming to town on Monday, so at least I have until then! 🙂  Enjoy!  If you are interested purchasing a ready made scrapbook or scrapbook kit, the prices and sizes are listed to the right! This is a 12×12 size.  Click on the pictures for a bigger view.
