Quick gift idea

Here is a quick and easy gift idea. I got these 24 page photo albums for $1 each at my local big box store. I took out the front and back card stock design that was there and using some Big Top DSP, I made new covers. I used the Big Shot Serif Essentials die to create the “j” monogram. We will give these as gifts for Christmas to all of my son’s grandparents and aunts and uncles.

These were really quick and easy and inexpensive too!

The Summer Mini is now LIVE!

The 2010 Summer Mini Catalog went live at midnight on May 1st, 2010.  I was able to pre-order some of the new materials in the catalog and had some time today to make a few cards.  These cards were all C’ased from the mini or the current issue of Stampin’ Success (the magazine demonstrators receive monthly).  You can order the new items at my Stampin’ Up! website anytime! 🙂

The first two cards are from the Summer Mini:

This card is 3 x 3.

Stamp set: Blissful Bride

Ink: Staz-on Jet Black Ink, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry

Card Stock: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Watercolor paper

Accessories: Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, rhinestone brad, aqua painter, dimensionals, adhesive, mat pack, paper piercer

This card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

Stamp set: Blissful Bride

Card Stock: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Watercolor paper

Accessories: Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, rhinestone brad, aqua painter, dimensionals, adhesive, mat pack, paper piercer, 3 flower punch, corner rounder

The next two cards are from the Stampin’ Success Magazine (I changed the colors a bit to reflect what I had…the ones in the magazine were made using the new In colors and I just cannot bring myself to use the samples I have…just yet anyway!)

This is the most over the top card I think I’ve ever made…7 layers!  I think it would also look very pretty in Rich Razzleberry/Chocolate Chip or Rich Razzleberry/Soft Suede or even Rich Razzleberry/Old Olive…I could go on and on!

Finished size 5 x 5

Stamp Sets: Vintage Vouge, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Close to Cocoa

Card Stocks: Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Very Vanilla, Vellum Cardstock

Accessories: Pretties Kit, Scallop Square Die, Square Punch, 3 Flower Punch, Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon (retired), adhesive, dimensionals, sponge, Polka Dots Impressions Die, Big Shot

Again, I changed up the colors a bit on this one.

I’ve also heard that the retiring colors of card stock in the 8 1/2 by 11 size are selling out quickly, so if you need any, click here or contact me to order them for you! 🙂

Club Cards for April

We’re meeting a little later this month, so I wanted to get some retiring papers into the mix before they were gone:

This basket was created with the Baskets and Blooms die.  I modified it a little so it was a longer basket.  I used Pretty in Pink for the basket and the flower.  The flower was created with the Scallop Circle Punch and the brads from the mini that will expire on April 31st.  Melon Mambo ribbon was also tied on.

This card was created using Whisper White, Certainly Celery, and Pink Passion.  I also used Vellum cardstock for the wings.  The stamp set is Pick A Petal.  I embossed the wings with Glassy Glaze after stamping them with Pink Passion Classic Ink.  I also used a paper piercer  and a set from the mini for the greeting (can’t think of the name right now… 🙂  ).

This card was inspired by the IBC (pg. 55).  I recreated it almost exactly, except no fresh lavender to be found!  This one holds a packet of seeds.  I used Mellow Moss textured cardstock, Lavender Lace, and Very Vanilla.  I used Mellow Moss, Pale Plum, and Perfect Plum for inks.  I then sewed the whole thing with white sewing floss and my sewing machine.

This card is cased entirely from my upline Angie.  Thanks Angie!!! 🙂  She is so creative!!  This card uses Very Vanilla (she used Ivory Naturals), Old Olive, Not Quite Navy.  Use Versamark for the ink and then Stampin’ Pastels and sponge daubers to apply the pastels.  Rough up the edges with the distressing tools and ink with Close to Cocoa.  Stamp greeting with Close to Cocoa.

There’s still room if you would like to join us on Saturday at 10am.  Let me know! 🙂

Quilted Rag Purses!

My upline Angie (she’s AMAZING!!) posted these quilted rag bags on her blog a few weeks ago and I saw them and had to make one…well, one turned into two and two into four!  Be sure to check her directions out at Chicn’Scratch!

Here are the bags I made! 😉

Just like Angie, I used the Big Shot and the Square Scallop Die to make these…so easy and so little cutting! 😉
